The start of something special (brand management online)

Nowadays, there’s so much information out there and it’s changing so quickly, it can seem impossible to keep up with it all. However, as one company found out, it pays to put the effort in to seeing who’s saying what.

On February 19th, Paul (from Idea Sandbox) wrote about how impressed he was with how a US company, L.L. Bean, are dealing with their price vs. quality image in the current economic climate. He thought they were doing pretty well. Read the post »

Within 1 ½ hours, L.L. Bean had:

  1. noticed and read Paul’s blog post;
  2. signed up to follow him on Twitter; and
  3. left him a note on Twitter, thanking Paul for reading the information they’d posted in their store.

Paul immediately responded with another blog post about the company; specifically, how L.L. Bean’s extra effort has inspired Paul to be a loyal customer before he’d ever bought a product. Read the post »
