Web marketing made easy

Rarely can anyone explain web marketing SIMPLY.

This is understandable because there are so many websites and online tactics and every one has an opinion.

To me, all this noise usually leads to overwhelm and confusion.  I actually find some digital marketing companies aim for this so they sound smarter (and because they can charge more in fees!)

This prompted us to face up to that challenge: How can web marketing be explained so that it MAKES SENSE?

We’ve been attempted to do so with the following diagram and tested it on several audiences we’ve presented to.  But you be the judge.

Web Marketing

Download Bluewire Media’s Web Marketing (PDF – 267 KB) & let us know what you think.

Your website is the centrepiece of your marketing

And there are three (3) types of commercial outcomes that can take place:
1. Enquiry (online application, phone call, register for more info)
2. Sale (transaction, purchase, donation, membership)
3. Download of information (ebook, toolkit, slides, whitepaper)

Everything else is designed to (eventually) get people to your website

SEARCH ENGINES

The main path is via Google and the search engines, either paid advertising, like Google Adwords, or through natural organic results, usually achieved by SEO (search engine optimisation).

BACKLINKS

Other websites on the web that link to you are good because it means people have more chance of visiting your website and its like an endorsement of your site. Plus it increases your ‘Google juice’ which means you appear higher up the search results.

SOCIAL MEDIA

The third way people will find out about you and connect with you is via social media. Think facebook, twitter, you tube, blogs and email. Yes, I believe email is the original form of social media online since it’s very personal and can spread quickly too!

Good ideas & good content can spread as they ripple through the social networks.

YOUR WEB MARKETING ENGINE

As you can see, the more you are doing in terms of Search engines, Backlinks & Social Media the more likely you are get a steady stream of visitors to your website.

So, does that make sense to you?
And is it useful?

Helping you understand (in simple terms) how web marketing can work for your business is how we see our responsibility at Bluewire.
