Selina Power and I had the pleasure of speaking at ICTT 2013, the International Conference on Travel Technology held at The Leela, Kovalam in God’s Own Country (the state of Kerala) in India.

The Leela Palace itself was an stunning hotel atop the cliffs above the Arabian Sea.

It was a superbly organised conference over three days and was officially inaugurated by the Chief Minister for Government of Kerala, Oommen Chandy – which is a very big deal!

This week, we have an important lesson on the value of positive community engagement! 

We heavily monitor a retail sector client’s Facebook page, but recently our two social media guides needed a holiday*.  So while our guides were away, we had to minimise the responsive work we could do in order to handle the out of hours monitoring. This meant we significantly reduced our engagement with the community and focussed on “fighting fires” rather than taking the time to encourage and get involved in positive conversations.…

May 2013 marks the one year anniversary of my inbound marketing journey with Hubspot.  I’d always been an inbound marketing disciple but for the last 12 months I’ve been actively implementing it.  That’s right.. social media, landing pages, lead nurturing, calls to action and blogging!

And I’m pleased to announce a…

A record month on Hubspot – 891 leads (8.1% conversion rate)!

We had 10,944 visitors to our Bluewire Media website, and 891 leads.  For the analytics geeks like me, that’s 8.1% conversion rate for the entire website.…
