On Monday, I posted a 0:59min video to LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook, and I asked Bluewire News readers to predict how they would perform on each social media platform…

After 4 days, these were the results

1st place: LinkedIn video: 5,944 views and 119 requests for the template
2nd place: Facebook video: 545 views and 23 requests for the template
3rd place: Instagram video: 289 views and 6 requests for the template.

Interesting hey…? After 4 days, LinkedIn by a mile, for me, but I think this would be the case for most high-trust, relationship-based professionals and business owners.…

It’s got a few changes you’ll notice. The main thing is your headshot and location is over to the left, rather than centred and your company and university has been elevated up above your contact info, which is also more prominent.

While web marketing is often the first discussion we have with clients when it comes to web strategy, marketing is the thin edge of the wedge when it comes to creating value for businesses on the web. What about recruitment, customer service, communications, business intelligence, accounting, financial modelling, bookkeeping, note-taking? There are so many tools now available to make life easier and create much more value for businesses in all of these areas.

At Bluewire Media, we’ve moved towards web based products and the cloud. Why? For 3 reasons:

  1. To build a “work from anywhere” philosophy (Google Apps and Skype means we’ll never again be stranded as we were with the Brisbane Floods last year, not to mention working from Brisbane, Sydney, Bali and San Francisco or indeed anywhere in the world)
  2. To access information and expertise that is as current as possible (accounting with Saasu has live bank feeds for up to the minute cash flows)
