Hi ~Contact.FirstName~
How are you?
Earlier this week I shared an article demonstrating how “top of mind is one of the most powerful, but under-played benefits of social media.”
It had a great response however it still leaves us with the issue of “where do I find the time?”.
Let’s address that today.
The easiest way to find time to do social media effectively is to stop doing these 3 things:
1. Consuming: Don’t spend all your time on social media scrolling through everyone else’s updates.
2. Comparing: Stop comparing yourself to other people. It’s easy to think the ‘grass is greener’ when you see everyone else’s feed.
3. Criticising: I hope this one is a given, but put aside the temptation to criticise people online.
When you eliminate these from your day, it frees up time to be very effective on social media. You can now focus on these two things to leverage your existing assets:
1. Connecting: Connect with your ‘real life’ network and form meaningful new relationships with prospects, especially via LinkedIn.
2. Content: Publish your knowledge and IP to the web as part of your body of work. This serves to reflect your ‘real life’ authority and allows you to stay ‘top of mind’ with 10X-100X more people than normal.
