I am the same and gravitate to this TEACH quadrant too.
- we don’t give them a chance to get to know us
- we deprive them of a chance to like us!

Each year I write a post reflecting on the major milestones, things I’m proud of and things that could’ve gone better. Following the lead of Noah Kagan and Seth Godin I take an annual look at what ‘I have shipped’.
I do this activity as a reference for myself, and if other people find it interesting or useful, even better.
In 2023, I’ve decided to look at what has had the most impact in terms of my family, business and life in general.
It was a year of lows and highs. …

When you’re creating your marketing plan for 2024 here are a few things to keep in mind.
What went well (and I’ll keep doing)?
What didn’t go well (and should I stop doing)?
What will I do myself?
I recommend sticking to your genius zone and do the things that are most rewarding, energising and high-value.
What can I accelerate with AI?
Think about where ChatGPT can help with things like generating ideas, analysing data, and writing first drafts or frameworks.…

For those following along, I managed to complete the Noosa 1000 swim and the run leg of the Noosa Tri relay on the weekend.
Both were bucket list items and I was actually quite happy with my times, given the circumstances.
The conditions in the ocean were terrible.
The water was very choppy which meant I had to bring my head up every stroke which is exhausting, or risk taking in a stomach-full of salt water.
Not only that — just 20 minutes before the start of the race, Noosa beach was closed because of a shark!…

“One of the concepts I covered in this week’s AI Content Blueprint workshop was the 4 types of content to win the hearts and minds of your clients.
It’s important to have the right mix of Share, Show, Teach and Offer content.
‘Share’ content gives people an insight into you as a person, ie. the real you. It might be your personal story, a glimpse behind the scenes or your philosophy, beliefs or values. It is designed to build a strong personal connection with you. Most business owners neglect this type of content because ‘who wants to know about me?’,…

This week, I had the chance to deliver a 5-minute talk at a Peer Mastermind on the Gold Coast.
The topic: “What’s been working well for me this year?”.

I ran my ChatGPT for marketing & lead nurture workshop this morning.
Here are 2 takeaways in case you missed it.
ChatGPT is only as good an the inputs you give it. With your prompts, I suggest assigning ChatGPT a role and an also outcome you desire. Then provide as much detail and context as you can. Don’t be shy – it can handle a lot of detail!
Then make revisions to the draft that ChatGPT gives you. This should get you to an output that is 70% of the way there.…

How do we find the 100 or 150 disciples that we need in order to nurture our 10 or 12 next clients?
(Remember a ‘disciple’ is someone devoted to the outcome you can help them achieve. They are not devoted to you!)
The slow way but effective to do it is to actually message and keep in contact and ask people questions as to where they’re at in their journey.
You can gauge whether they are serious about getting to the outcome that you can help them with.…

50?
100?
500?
Enter Dunbar’s Number – a theory that suggests a cognitive limit to the number of individuals with whom we can maintain stable relationships.
According to British anthropologist Robin Dunbar…
For us humans, the “magic number” is 150.
This is not just trivia, it’s a critical insight for business owners and marketers.
It explains why trying to market to “everyone” often results in reaching “no one.”
When building your marketing strategy, Dunbar’s Number should be top of mind.
How does it translate to lead generation and winning new clients?…

100-150 DISCIPLES: One of the key things that I like to explain to audiences is that we don’t actually need as big an audience as we think we do.
If we want to get, say, 10 or 12 new ideal ‘sweet spot’ clients, what we really need is probably about 100 to 150 people who are devoted to the outcome that you can help them achieve.
Now, I refer to these people as disciples, because the word disciple means devoted.
In order to uncover your 150 or 100 disciples, all we really need is about a thousand people.…

AI (artificial intelligence) is all the rage right now, and I’m slowly getting my head around it all.
Of course, I’ve been blown away by ChatGPT — but more on that later!
Today I want to share Fathom AI which I love because it:
Fathom‘s catch cry is “get your own free AI meeting assistant & never take notes on Zoom again” — and it’s true.…
