Updated on July 8th, 2013

Recently business have been up in arms over the dramatic drop in reach their Facebook pages have been seeing but on Tuesday 20th November, SMB Marketing Consultant from Facebook Nick Bowditch put all of the rumours to rest at the Facebook Small Business Bootcamp.  Basically Facebook was built for people and not for businesses. The fact the businesses can use it is a bonus but at the end of the day statistics show that businesses on Facebook will never spend a red cent with Facebook or any of its products and when you have 4,000 employees in the company… well you do the math.…

  1. Your Blog is Boring – if your blog content does not aim to engage your audience, make them think ,ask them a question or evoke an emotion then you might as well just stop blogging. This is your chance to add remarkable content that will have your readers sharing and commenting on everything they read of yours. Try using video and photos and talk about content that is relevant to your audience.

You’ll never silence the voice of the voiceless.

“Voice of the Voiceless” – Rage Against The Machine – Battle of Los Angeles, Oct 1999

When I was asked to give a presentation entitled “You’ll never silence the blog – the impact of media regulations on blogging sites”  (slides) at the Inaugural Media Regulations Forum in Sydney, I immediately thought of the Rage Against The Machine lyrics.

Hi it’s Adam Franklin and welcome to the 6th episode of Social Media TV where we’ll look at the standout events in social media.

Facebook Admin Roles

The first is that Facebook has now allowed you to actually set different Admin privileges, so everybody who looks after your Facebook Page can now either be a manager, an insight analyst, a moderator, an advertiser, or a content creator.

So what this is good for is assigning different people in your organisation different tasks and responsibilities within your Facebook Page.…

Updated on July 8th, 2013

Why spend $25,000 on a video that 12 people watch?  It doesn’t make much sense, but many ‘professional’ corporate videos are boring and go unwatched!

Injecting fun, humour and entertainment into corporate videos terrifies marketing & PR people. Except it shouldn’t, because it WORKS!  After we met at a Leadership Summit last week, I got to interview Kevin Daum, the author of Video Marketing for Dummies.

Interview with Kevin Daum

TRANSCRIPT:

Adam Franklin: Hi there it’s Adam Franklin here and I’m lucky enough to be here with Kevin Daum the author of Video Marketing for DUMMIES.…
