Two things I discussed on Monday’s Facebook Live were how to get visibility in the marketplace and how to attract clients that value what you bring to the table.
But first… I want to introduce you the master in doing both these things, by becoming a recognsied expert: Dorie Clark.
I kept seeing Dorie providing political commentary on major TV networks during the US elections last year. I saw her contributing to high profile business publications and saw her working with great clients, so it was a pleasure when I got to interview her for our podcast.
In it, Dorie shares the 3 pillars of becoming a recognised expert:
1. Content Creation: sharing your ideas with the world via blogs, videos, podcasts, book and speeches.
2. Social proof: boosting your credibility with proof of customers, media exposure and recognition.
3. Network: having a group of ambassadors, both people in your community, and peers or influencers in your industry.
She’s also created a special 42-page self-assessment workbook that helps walk you step-by-step through the process of identifying your unique ideas and building a following around them, so that clients will be attracted to you.
Dorie’s self-assessment workbook helps you identify:
- Hidden trends and missed opportunities in your industry
- The ‘secret sauce’ in your background and the contribution only you can make
- How to break through the noise and be heard in a crowded marketplace
- How to build a following around your ideas and grow your impact
I’m excited to share it with you here.
When you’re a recognised expert, you don’t have to justify your prices, and you don’t have to beg for business. Clients come to you, because they’re already sold. They understand – and are willing to pay – for the value you bring.
I’ve personally benefited from Dorie’s self-assessment, and hope you might enjoy it, too. Download it here.
Now here’s the podcast I did with Dorie Clark on Ep 149 of our Web Marketing That Works show.
