I got called out publicly by someone on LinkedIn other day!

The reason it happened is because we were both a business function, and she was trying to track me down in the room — but didn’t recognise me because I didn’t look like my LinkedIn headshot!

I’d broken one of my own golden rules, and got called out on it, rightly so.

My profile picture was only 18 months old but it obviously didn’t look like me today.

This was a big mistake on my part and I fixed it straight away!

Your LinkedIn Profile headshot is very important because people need to recognise you when you meet in real life.

In a nutshell, here’s 3 steps for the perfect LinkedIn Headshot:

• Take a new headshot (…on your smart phone is fine) or select a recent photo you comfortable with.
• Use to crop out the background, so your face stands out.
• Use to add a colourful circle around the image so it stands out even more.
