Hi [[ contact.first_name ]]
If you’re like most business owners I speak to, you’ve probably got a lot of good quality connections on LinkedIn and email — probably hundreds, if not thousands.
You know you’ve got a valuable asset… yet it sits dormant.
No doubt you feel stuck because you don’t know what to say to them!
You might even draft a few messages but stall on hitting send..
Because deep down you don’t want to come across salesy… or spammy… or pushy…
After all, we’ve all got those awful types of sales-pitch messages in our DMs and inbox.
And when we are on the receiving end of ‘those types’ of messages, we vow never to do the same!
So what do we do?
It shouldn’t be that hard, right?
Because in real-life, we have no qualms introducing ourself to someone new at a business event, and striking up a conversation.
Nor do we have any apprehension saying hi to an old acquaintance we happen to bump into in the street.
So why do we struggle when it comes to doing exactly the same thing when it comes to LinkedIn, email (or Messenger)?
On LinkedIn, most of us have people we connected with years ago, who we’ve have never actually said hello to.
In real-life, we’d never meet someone and not say anything to them — let alone stay silent for years!
You’re not alone.
Knowing what to say to people online is the biggest challenge most people face.
(The good news is my 50+ script library solves that problem.)
My coaching clients typically face the same challenge when they start too.
Fortunately they’ve been able to:
- learn what to say (and why)
- tailor their own messages
- get out of their own way
- and actually start re-connecting with people in their network.
In many cases they’ve started conversations, booked meetings and picked up tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in new business.
What do we actually say?
The key is to have real conversations, not blast a generic sales pitch.
It’s a nurturing process and it has a back and forth — just like a real life business conversation.
We need to break it down into small stages rather than having one ‘big swing for the fence’.
The five stages to deploy are what I call the 5 Step Nurture System:
Step 1. Connection Request / Reconnection message
Step 2. Conversation Starters
Step 3. Gauge Interest
Step 4. Hand Raisers (aka Shake the Tree)
Step 5. Book a Sales Conversation
If you’re in the same boat and have lots of good connections but don’t know what to say next.
Either follow the five steps I’ve outlined above, and get going!
Or skip the trial and error, and simply put your own flavour on my proven script frameworks.
My 50+ Script Library is a collection of the best performing messages on LinkedIn, 1-on-1 emails and Messenger.
They are yours to edit and tailor to your own purposes.
I’ve even recorded a short behind-the-scenes look at the script library so you know what you’re getting.
