Short version:
If you run a WordPress website, please do this audit.
The Full Story:
Hi [[ contact.first_name ]],
I use WordPress to run my Bluewire website… and 2 things totally floored me recently.
#1. My website was very vulnerable to a security attack (as in, it could be hacked and decimate my business.)
#2. It was extremely slow to load.
How did I discover this..?
My friend and client Peter Cutforth ran a WordPress audit for me.
(By the way, we caught up at my workshop yesterday and he has offered to do the same audit for you, at no cost.)
Back to the story…
The reasons why these issues matter should be obvious!
But in the case of #1 (the security threat), don’t think “getting hacked will never happen to me”.
Over 90,978 attacks happen per MINUTE. In fact just this week, I had phone call with a business that it happened to and it was a major drama — both in terms of reputation and the significant time and cost of fixing it.
So this is a real risk (even in Australia) that needs to be dealt with and kept on top of, to prevent a disaster if your website gets compromised.
Re: #2 (slow load time), speed is now something that Google pays close attention to!
So if your site loads slowly it will prevent it from ranking as highly as it could in Google. It can also increase the amount of visitors who abandon your site while it is loading.
One of my students and now clients, Peter Cutforth and his team over at Urban Global are my go-to SEO and WordPress pros.
Peter’s created a really useful article about WordPress speed and security which he’s made available for you and all your fellow Bluewire News subscribers.
Better yet, he’s also offering you a complimentary WordPress audit — just like he did for me. *You just scroll to the bottom of the article, enter your URL and name, he’ll produce your report*
As I mentioned, I got the audit done and I discovered my WordPress site was a ticking time bomb (…that loaded ever so slowly!)
For me it was too big a risk to do nothing, so I engaged Peter’s team of developers to fix everything!
You may choose to do the same.
