S: What are you hoping to gain from the Social Media Down Under Event?
M: “I’m hoping to gain some global perspective from Social Media Down Under, and I’m hoping to help facilitate communication between Oz and the U.S., regarding how both countries can work together to forge ties through social business, while cultivating a stronger global economy. More than anything, I want to learn, be inspired, and offer any American insights about social responsibility that the audience may find valuable. ”
S: What are you hoping people will gain from your presentation?
M: “People will learn about consumer activism, social media and corporate social responsibility, and my journey to becoming a digital journalist and content strategist.”
S: What are your thoughts about the use of social media in Australia?
M: “Some Aussies who work with social media have told me that Oz is a good four years behind the U.S. in terms of implementing social media in business strategies. Perhaps, we don’t need to look at Australia as being ‘behind’ anything. Perhaps, we can look at the budding growth of social technology down under, as an opportunity to reinvent the parts of the wheel that don’t always turn so fluidly.”
