Real-Time Marketing & PR Masterclass – David Meerman Scott

Tweet

David Meerman Scott will be LIVE in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne (Australia) in 2011 doing his Real-Time Marketing & PR masterclass. I highly recommend that if you only go to ONE Marketing workshop this year, that it is this one.

In my experience, David is quite simply the best marketing presenter you’ll hear.  He completely understands the power of the web and $695 to spend a day with him is the best money you’ll spend this year (I promise).  I hope to see you there!

Watch David Meerman Scott explain what you’ll learn at his Australian Masterclass!…

If you missed David Meerman Scott’s keynote presentation on ‘Real Time Marketing & PR‘ here is your chance to watch it online (but only until the end of 2010).

It is well worth setting 45 minutes aside to watch the entire presentation. But if you don’t have time just skip to the video that sounds most interesting!

PLEASE NOTE:  Due to David’s Australian speaking tour commitments in 2011, we’ll be setting these videos to private in 2011.

Part One: Chilean Miners, Paris Hilton.  “Social Media are the tools – Real Time is a mind set”

Part Two:

Real-Time Marketing & PR… in Brisbane

David Meerman Scott fans in Brisbane finally got see him in action – via satellite from the USA. Here are the two biggest discoveries I made at today’s event.

Real-time engagement is what matters

Tomorrow, next week, next month or next year isn’t good enough in the Internet Age.   You need to be acting now. In real-time.

And just like the Wall St trading floors in the 80s, there is money to made by responding in real-time and by the same token – if you snooze, you lose!

David provided great clarity for me when he explained this concept (which I’d been struggling to clarify in my own head.)…

New Rules of PR in action – yes they really work!

Updated on February 8th, 2013

If you’ve been reading our blog for a while, you’ll know that we really like the books The New Rules of Marketing and PR by David Meerman Scott and Inbound Marketing by Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah.

I have thoroughly enjoyed putting many of their recommendations into practice. Yes they really do work and this is my favourite experience so far.

My story:

The invite to our recent Email Marketing Secrets event was sent out to our subscribers and on the same day a journalist from Fairfax Digital – who wasn’t on our database – contacted us for an interview about an article he was writing.…

Entertain and inform like a good journalist should

I recently came across this little sound-byte from David Meerman Scott. It’s exciting because it reinforces my hopes about the way I feel businesses should be communicating.

David Meerman Scott says that businesses should be looking to employ journalists to produce their communications. That said, it’s not just about the person being an ex-journo and applying that to P.R because they know how the media machine works.

No, it’s about applying the hallmarks of the journalistic trade to the way your business speaks.

That is, to entertain and inform your audience.…

Marketing Apple

There is a lot to be said for writing interesting e-books. They can help spread your ideas, win clients, influence prospects & maybe even land you a job.

Apparently, that is what happened when Steve Chazin published his ebook ‘Marketing Apple.’

It’s a free download & a very interesting read.

Marketing Apple – 5 Secrets of the World’s Best Marketing Machine e-book by Steve Chazin.

His 5 key messages:

1. Products don’t sell, people do
2. Never be first to market – make something good, great.
3. Empower early adopters – they want to help you!…

Tweet! Tweet! – A Little Bird Told Me…

Updated on July 15th, 2013

Adam spoke on Social Media Marketing for Events at the ACEB conference on Wednesday & after presenting the benefits a delegate asked –

“But what if people at your event tweet criticisms? Wouldn’t that be reason to stay away from Twitter at events?”

As Adam answered, the challenge here is to do your utmost to give people an experience they want to say good things about!

And if, for whatever reason, they do have a gripe at least you as the organiser/business owner will know & can respond.…

Updated on July 15th, 2013

When I had the pleasure of seeing marketing strategist, David Meerman Scott present live via satellite at the Growth Summit in Sydney, I was so impressed that I just wanted to ask a few more questions.  Luckily, David graciously accepted our request.

In the Part 1 of this interview, David explains:

– what the ‘New Rules of Marketing & PR’ are and how they work.
– how he personally used the ‘new rules’ to reach 30 million people for the launch of his book “The New Rules of Marketing and PR“.…
