Today I’ve got two resources for you that I’ve previously only ever shared with private clients and used internally.
#1. Trello Board Template
I use this for all my marketing tasks at Bluewire, and I also use it with each of my private coaching clients.
The board is based on ‘agile methodology’ and it’s simple yet powerful. The 4 main columns are BACKLOG, TO-DO, IN PROGRESS & DONE.

The template allows us to keep a backlog of all our ideas (so none get lost) and at the same time it allows me to keep my priorities front and centre, so that each day and each week I know exactly what to focus on.
The best part is the ‘DONE’ column where we drag the tasks once we have completed them.

#2. Entire Recruitment Process: How to Hire & Retain ‘A Players’
Marketing consultants & agencies — this should be super useful!
My friend Dave Jenyns interviewed me on the topic how to and I shared the entire Bluewire recruitment process that we spent years implementing and refining.
I reflected on the days when Bluewire was a digital agency (before we transitioned to an education & coaching company) and I offered up our entire 10 step recruitment process, plus bonus PDFs. All for free.
How to Hire & Retain ‘A Players’ Step 1: Write a Job Score Card (job ad) and publish it. Step 2: Send a job application form to allow candidates to apply. Step 3: Screen the application forms and run a competency exam for the shortlisted candidates. Step 4: Conduct a short screening call with the candidates who successfully pass the competency exam. Step 5: Call and check the references of the successful candidates. Step 6: Invite the shortlisted candidates to a face-to-face cultural interview. Step 7: Introduce the successful applicant to the team. Step 8: Employ the successful candidate for a 3-month probation period. Step 9: Set an organizational hierarchic system with a pay range for each level. Step 10: Conduct performance reviews and offer incremental promotions and pay raise to retain “A Players”.
