Lifelong mates Adam Franklin and Toby Jenkins started from scratch and have built Bluewire Media into a business they are proud of and a place where people can 'do what they love.'
In the beginning when Toby Jenkins & Adam Franklin returned from overseas in 2004, Toby had just competed in the Athens Olympics, realising his lifelong dream of playing water polo for Australia and becoming an Olympian. And Adam had returned from living his dream of travelling the world for two years, snowboarding, surfing and living abroad.
In 2005, they both followed their dream of building a business, so they started Bluewire Media – originally a web design company. With the advice of tremendous mentors, they focused on the goal of building a business, and hiring the best technical skills they could afford, to deliver work for a technology company.
They are very passionate about business and their BHAG, or big hairy audacious goal, for Bluewire Media is to be the Google of web strategy.
Amongst other accolades, in 2009, both Adam and Toby were recognised in Australia’s Hot 30 Under 30 list of young entrepreneurs.
In 2009, they officially divided their roles and responsibilities. Toby Jenkins took the role of CEO with the responsibility of leading the team, setting goals and challenges, and eliminating anything that stood in the way of the team doing their best work. Adam Franklin was appointed the Marketing Manager with the role of focussing on public-facing activity like public speaking, social media, event organising, guest blogging and content marketing.
On their journey so far, Adam and Toby have learnt a tremendous amount from the advice of mentors, colleagues and peers & of course trial and error. They’ve built a team of over 13 passionate people, servicing clients. They’ve been profiled on TV, radio, in the press and in books and created their own free tools and e-books.

- got started with ‘no experience’ and ‘no track record’
