MY ANSWER:
“Because I like to keep friction low and deliver value.
Many people on LinkedIn don’t know me yet, and since I ‘make the PDF offer’ I feel the right thing to do is to honour that and not get you to jump through hoops to opt-in to get it.
So I send the PDF directly to people who request it with no opt-in.
And as for the ‘funnel’ part… Once we’re communicating in DMs, I will typically invite that person to register for a webinar that is related to what I’ve shared in the PDF.
This is where they can decide to ‘opt-in’ for the next step of the journey. Thanks for the question Simon! Hope that helps.”
