It’s what we used to use with our clients back when Bluewire was a marketing agency. Now we’re releasing it for free to help marketing consultants.
(If you didn’t know, we stopped being an agency in 2013, and since then have purely focused on education and training. Some readers ask if we do a done-for-you service, and the answer is no, but we can introduce you to consultants and agencies who can help.)
Use this methodology diagram in your marketing proposals, and as a resource in meetings with prospects.
You can even take the editable Illustrator or Photoshop files to add your own logo and edit the content to suit your own business.
In our days as a marketing agency we found this methodology diagram very effective in a number of ways. Firstly it demonstrated that we actually had a methodology, which many agencies and consultants don’t. So that alone helped us win work.
Secondly it allowed us to show prospects and clients the whole “journey” broken down into each phase. Each step is outlined in one of six phases.
Pricing ‘digital projects’ could often feel like asking “how long’s a piece of string?”, but this methodology allowed us to outline what was required, and explain the value of each step.
In doing so, we could charge appropriately for each stage of the journey, and we could work with the client in bite size chunks. Each “phase” was a stand alone project which meant there were milestones where we were both free to either part ways or continue working together. This meant it was less daunting for the client, and it also minimised the risk of us getting stuck with a horrible client. If it wasn’t a good fit, we’d part ways without being locked into a massive project.
