In plain English
We are a small Australian advisory and training business. We collect your details when you subscribe, buy something, book a call, register for an event or get in touch. We use those details to deliver what you asked for and to keep in touch. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever. You can ask to see what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted, by emailing adam.franklin@bluewiremedia.com.au.
The rest of this page is the detail.
Who we are
Bluewire Media Pty Ltd is the data controller for the personal information described here. Adam Franklin is accountable for privacy at Bluewire Media, and is your contact for any privacy question, request or complaint.
This policy covers bluewiremedia.com.au and adamfranklin.com.au, along with our email list, our online course and coaching platforms, and our events.
Our commitment under Australian law
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. We hold ourselves to those principles as a matter of practice, regardless of any exemption a business of our size might otherwise rely on.
What we collect
Information you give us directly:
- Name, email address, phone number and postal address
- Business name, role, industry and company details
- Payment and billing information, processed by our payment providers, see below
- Information you provide in a form, a survey, a quiz, an application, a booking or an email
- Content you share with us during coaching or advisory work, including documents, recordings and business information
- Your name, email address and website if you leave a comment on our blog
Information we collect automatically:
- IP address, browser type and device information
- Pages visited, time on site, referring source
- Cookie and analytics data, see the cookies section
Information from third parties:
- Event registration details passed to us by a conference organiser, bureau or joint venture partner
- Publicly available professional information, such as a LinkedIn profile, used for research and outreach
Recording of calls and meetings
We record coaching calls, advisory sessions and some meetings so that participants get a transcript, a summary and a replay. Recording is disclosed at the start of the session and you can ask us not to record, or to stop recording, at any time. Recordings and transcripts are stored in our meeting and video tools and shared only with the participants of that session.
Why we collect it, and our legal basis
| What we do | Why |
|---|---|
| Deliver coaching, advisory, courses, events and keynotes | To perform our contract with you |
| Process payments and issue invoices | To perform our contract, and to meet tax and record-keeping obligations |
| Send our newsletter and marketing emails | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Respond to enquiries and provide support | Our legitimate interest in running the business |
| Improve our website, content and offers | Our legitimate interest, using aggregated and analytics data |
| Meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations | Legal obligation |
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Marketing and how to opt out
If you are on our email list, you asked to be there. Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it works immediately. You can also email adam.franklin@bluewiremedia.com.au and we will remove you.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential service emails, such as an invoice, a receipt, or the joining details for something you have booked.
Who we share your information with
We never sell your personal information, and we never share it for someone else's marketing.
We do share it with the service providers who help us run the business. Each is bound to use it only to provide their service to us.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, where it is needed to protect our rights, or where a court order or legal process compels it.
Artificial intelligence
We are an AI advisory business, so it is fair that you know how we use it.
- We use AI tools, including Claude and ChatGPT, to draft, summarise, research and organise our own work.
- Where we process client material through an AI tool as part of an engagement, we do so under paid business accounts whose terms exclude the content from being used to train the provider's models.
- We do not upload a client's confidential material to a consumer AI tool.
- We do not use AI to make decisions about you without a human involved.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website uses cookies. Some are necessary for the site to work. Others tell us how the site is used, and some support our advertising.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Google Analytics (GA4) | Tells us which pages get read, how people arrive, and what they do next |
| Google Search Console | Shows us what people search for before they land here |
| Google Ads | Measures whether an ad led to an enquiry, and supports remarketing |
| Meta Pixel | Measures whether a Facebook or Instagram ad led to an enquiry, and supports remarketing |
| Clicky | Site analytics, in place alongside Google Analytics |
Google Ads and the Meta Pixel mean you may see our advertising after visiting this site. You can turn that off in Google's ad settings and in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you do, parts of the site may not work as intended.
If you leave a comment on the blog, you may be given the option to save your name, email address and website in a cookie so you do not have to type them again next time. That cookie lasts one year. If you have an account and log in, we set cookies to remember your login and display preferences.
Blog comments
If you leave a comment, we collect the details you enter in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser information to help us catch spam. Approved comments and their details are kept while the post remains published, so that follow-up comments from the same person go through without being held for moderation. You can ask us to delete a comment and its associated data at any time.
How long we keep your information
- Email subscribers: while you remain subscribed, and for a reasonable period afterwards to honour your unsubscribe.
- Clients: for the life of the engagement and for seven years afterwards, to meet Australian tax and record-keeping requirements.
- Financial records: seven years.
- Call recordings and transcripts: at least two years, and longer where the engagement is ongoing or the client asks us to keep them.
- Enquiries that do not proceed: at least two years.
- Blog comments: while the post remains published, or until you ask us to remove them.
How we protect it
We use encrypted connections on our website, two-factor authentication on our core systems, encrypted devices, and individual logins for every contractor with no shared passwords and access limited to what each person needs.
We never store complete credit card details. Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe or ThriveCart.
No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
- Stop sending you marketing
- Restrict or object to how we use your information
- Provide a copy in a portable, machine-readable format
Email adam.franklin@bluewiremedia.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, you have the rights set out above, plus the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Our lawful bases for processing are set out in the table above. Where we transfer your data outside the UK or EEA, we rely on the protections offered by our providers' own transfer mechanisms.
Bluewire Media is an Australian business with a primarily Australian and Asia-Pacific client base. We do not target advertising at the UK or EEA and we do not have an establishment there.
Children
Our services are for business owners and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.

This policy covers bluewiremedia.com.au and adamfranklin.com.au only. When you follow a link to someone else's site, their privacy policy applies, not ours.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, email adam.franklin@bluewiremedia.com.au first and we will try to sort it out.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
