Subj: read this if you’re overwhelmed
Hi ~Contact.FirstName~
How are you?
Over the weekend, we identified the three biggest objections (and most common fears) with digital marketing. They may feel real, but these three are actually all myths. Let me explain.
Fear #1. I don’t have the time
This is by far and away the biggest show stopper. I get it though… We’ve all got lots on our plate and more than enough ideas to keep us busy till the end of time. What usually happens is we get analysis paralysis, stall, turn on Netflix and don’t get anything done. It happens to all of us at times and if you’re guilty of still having unfinished To-Dos after a burst of inspiration, then don’t fret.
We are all certainly human and this behaviour is natural, but it doesn’t need to be as overwhelming and unproductive. Just pick the ONE thing that’s most important and ignore the rest until you’ve completed it. You have our permission ;-)
Fear #2. I can’t keep up with content creation
This is closely related to fear #1 because we often psyche ourselves out thinking that we need to blog everyday or spend every waking hour creating content. This isn’t true at all and there’s no need to feel daunted. Just start with ONE piece of content. Then share it with the world.
It can be as simple as a 1 page PDF that you publish on your website or a landing page. One good quality lead magnet will serve you well for many years to come. You can even hire a designer to help. Here’s a link to my video on how to uncover your lead magnet.
Fear #3. I’m not going to get an ROI (return on investment)
Do you want to know the real reason some people don’t get an ROI on digital marketing…? The major trap really is that we get distracted. It’s so easy to open our inbox, google or social media profiles with good intentions but before we know it we are completely distracted and deep in content consumption mode rather than creation, promotion or connection mode.
Instead of consuming endless amounts of content, try to focus on promoting your lead magnet via email and your social media platforms, and then connecting with the people who download it. You can do this by saying thank you via social media comments, emailing the people who opted in and if you have a phone number, don’t be afraid to give people a call. You’ll stand out, you’ll earn trust and in a short conversation you’ll be able to learn a lot about your prospective customers.
If you’re comfortable with that, here’s my video on the 8 Step Blueprint for making progress with your digital marketing. It is simple, straight forward and sequential.
