The Bees Awards – Nomination Highlight #1
The finalists for The Bees Awards – the first international social media awards – were announced yesterday, and it’s really exciting to see the breadth of approaches that have been recognised at such a high level.
It’s also great to see that social media is well and truly coming of age internationally – with the top players coming from all over.
OLD SPICE
The absolute highlight for me was seeing that Wieden+Kennedy’s Old Spice campaign has been nominated as a finalist in the “best campaign” category, along with the “best copywriting” category. I come up blank when I try to think of any copywriting as engaging.
From their Twitter profile description: “For men who prefer to smell something like exotic shark punching or incessant face kicking, we have 17 scents for whatever mantivity you want to smell like” to their ability to churn out so many hilarious video responses in such a short time, they take the cake for me.
(Plus it’s always nice to have an excuse to peruse pictures of Isaiah Mustafa in the name of work.)
While we’re there….here is some of the gold from the campaign that we haven’t yet covered on this blog:
The social media awards are set to be held on November 9th, 2010 in San Francisco. Stay tuned for Bees buzz.
