Weekly Social Media Wrap Up
As the Social Media Advisor here at Bluewire Media it is my job to stay on top of what is trending and the latest social media news so we can best inform our clients. I read at least 30 articles a week discussing anything from Pinterest, the latest social media marketing campaigns to little known tips and tricks of Facebook, Twitter and more. So I thought it would be a good idea to do a weekly wrap up.
Planking is so last year, why not try Jolieing?
Angelina Jolie stole the show at the Oscars this week with that’s right her right leg! The celeb’s leg flashing became a huge social media sensation with fans and bloggers super imposing her leg onto almost anything. Her pose at the red carpet has even become a verb “Jolieing”! Angelina’s right leg is now so popular it even has its own twitter account with over 44,000 followers. Follow it now on: @AngiesRightLeg

Opt-Out Code for Pinterest
For anyone with copyrighted images Pinterest may be your worst enemy. Pinterest allows users to grab an image from any website and post it on one of their pin-boards where it can be shared by millions. Pinterest has heard all of the concern about possible image stealing and has now provided an opt out code for companies who want to block pinning of their images.
To block a person from pinning an image from your website place the below code in the header of the specific page:
<meta name=”pinterest” content=”nopin” />
