The debate around the national broadband network often seems to be far more political than ‘what’s in it for us.’ However I’ve just discovered a book that answers this question for us — the business owners, online marketers and online shoppers!

A Faster Future

I’ve been reading the book called “A Faster Future” by Brad Howarth and Janelle Ledwidge which has made me realise how big this opportunity will be for those who are ready.

I particularly enjoyed the 3rd chapter “Small Business, Big Potential” (p77).  The benefit for small business owners is that broadband and the web provides them with more power to compete with big business.…

A handy new Mobile Friendly site ‘Takes Off’ at Brisbane Airport

The first of a few mobile projects in the pipeline for BAC here at Bluewire Media, has officially launched or “taken off” if you can excuse the pun. Quietly tonight, while the usual busy Brisbane Airport slows down just a tad, the launch button on their new Mobile Optimised Website was pushed.

We’re pretty of proud of this project here at Bluewire and if you’re anything like me I think you’ll agree this will be a very handy addition to the online presence of Brisbane Airport. Just watched this video from Socialnomics and had to share it. While funny, it stuck a cord when comparing the measurement of the ROI’s from different mediums.

One of the most common questions I am asked at presentations and workshops is “how do I deal with negative comments on social media?”

After telling a few stories about both good and bad ways of dealing with negative comments, I usually paint a hypothetical situation and let the audience members debate it in small groups and then de-brief at the end.  Each group often takes a slightly different approach and they are all very valid.
